Overview

 

High School Internship Mission

HOPE Dealers is dedicated to impacting the lives of inner-city youth. Our mission is to work with urban youth entrusted to our care to foster the skills they need to make lifelong positive choices and to create and to create their own opportunities for success.

 

Overall Goal

The gold standards of our high school internship are part of a continuum of work based learning that includes career awareness, exploration and preparation Activities. (Prepare, DO, Reflect)

Standards

 

Results for YOUTH

Youth will learn the world of work and their place in it. The correction between school skills and work skills and ingredients needed for future success.

 

Results for School Personnel and PARENTS

School Personnel learn to work collaboratively with participating internship providers and receive the necessary training to help youth succeed in and maximize their internship opportunities.

Specifications

 

Requirements

  • Enrolled in Public, Charter, Private High School in Forsyth County Winston-Salem.

  • Must be a 9th, 10th, 11th, or Senior student.

  • Has transportation to all events and weekly meetings

  • Two completed Recommendation forms

  • Flexible Schedule

  • Compassion for Outreach, Activism, and the Non-profit Industry.

  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA

Program Dates

  • School Year Program will kick off: October 2021 to Mid December of 2021

  • School Year Program End: May of 2022

  • Summer Program Starts: June of 2022

  • Summer Program Ends: July 2022
